LIDO CINEMA

The redevelopment of the Lido Cinema involved the expansion and upgrade of the existing theatre complex, transforming the original two-cinema venue into a modern three-cinema facility. Works included the construction of a new upper-level lobby, seismic strengthening, fire and mechanical services upgrades, internal cinema refurbishments, and a complete new roof.

Delivered within a constrained site with limited access and parking, the project required careful coordination, particularly as the lower cinema remained operational throughout construction. Noisy works were scheduled around screening times to minimise disruption to patrons and daily operations. Additional structural complexities and asbestos discovered during construction added further challenges, requiring adaptive project management and staging.

The completed upgrade enhances both functionality and visitor experience while extending the life of this well-known local cinema.
